Students learn how all living things are interconnected, and how land is not a resource, but a relative.
🌀 Seasonal Cycles & Traditional Knowledge
From fall harvests to spring renewals, students experience learning in rhythm with nature, guided by teachings shared by Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
🗣 Language, Identity & Place
By exploring the connection between language, culture, and belonging, students develop a stronger sense of self and their place in the world.
🧡 Respect, Responsibility & Reciprocity
Teachings focus on how to care for the land, each other, and future generations, understanding that with every gift comes a responsibility.

 

🛠 Learning Activities

• Seasonal land-based walks, medicine picking, or water ceremonies
• Storytelling and oral traditions with Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers
• Learning Cree, Dene, or Saulteaux words for local plants, animals, and weather
• Building natural shelters or observing traditional hunting/fishing knowledge
• Journaling reflections about land-based learning and personal responsibility
